Radiology Senior Nurse

·
Full time
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Radiology Senior Nurse to work within a dedicated team at Worthing & Southlands Hospitals which is part of the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.

Worthing & Southlands Radiology Nurses take responsibility for the clinical nursing care of patients attending the radiology department. We provide a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic image guided services that require hands-on nursing care from our team. Radiology Nurses also play a pivotal part in Interventional Radiology or IR, which is a form of image guided surgery that uses imaging techniques to guide equipment to parts of the body that surgeons couldn't normally reach without an open operation.

Main duties of the job

The Radiology Senior Nurse's key role is to act as a role model and ensure effective staff supervision with clinical practice, working with staff and patients in an advisory, teaching and support capacity and maintaining professional competence, authority and credibility. They will also be required to deputise for the Lead Radiology Nurse.

They must be able to work collaboratively with clinical experts including Radiology Consultants, Nursing staff and Clinical Teams in the development of expert, person-centered practice.

To ensure we continue to remain effective and efficient, the Radiology Senior Nurse will help to develop protocols and guidelines and work closely with our appointment teams to ensure the smooth operational running of the interventional radiology (IR) department.

This can be seen in our Wellbeing Programme for staff which is extensive and designed to support you when you need it - because we know that to look after others we must first look after ourselves.

As a university trust and a leader in healthcare research, we value learning, teaching and training so that we can be the best that we can be. From the moment you start with us and throughout your career we will help you to grow and develop.
