About the role: You will be responsible for installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining diverse electrical systems, controls, and equipment across RAF Lakenheath and RAF Feltwell. This includes initial and periodic Electrical Inspection, Testing, and Certification in various installations, including domestic, industrial, and hazardous areas. You will work

39 hours per week, working hours will be 7:45am - 4:15pm.

Your start and end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organisation's flexible working policies. You may be required to facilitate an on-call function over a

24-hour period covering 7 days a week

as per the manning roster, subject to conditions. On-call allowance is currently

£16.00 per day. Main duties and responsibilities: Install, maintain, repair, and replace electrical systems such as panels, services, and various power sources. Carry out inspection and testing of new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, panels, switches, breakers, and controls. Diagnose and resolve issues in electrical systems. Maintain a safe, clean work environment. Maintain records and document actions in accordance with regulations. About you: Our ideal

Electrician

will have safety knowledge, practices, and procedures. You should have technical expertise in planning, laying out, installing, modifying, troubleshooting, and repairing various systems, along with understanding electronic theory and instruments. Proficiency in using and maintaining hand tools, problem-solving skills, and competence in using electrical drawings. Desired certifications include

City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Electrical Installations BS 7671 and City & Guilds 2391 for Inspection, Testing & Certification, as well as training in first aid for electric shock and fire safety. All successful applicants will require a security clearance and a right to work in the UK. This position may have certain restrictions to US citizens including US dual nationals due to the Status of Forces Agreement.
