Job Summary The Allocator’s position plays a critical and pivotal role in the smooth daily running of the ramp operation. The purpose of the Allocator is to delegate workload, communicate information, and control the operational staffing on a shift-by-shift basis. Job Responsibilities Ensure that all staff rostered to attend work is in attendance at their designated start times. The Allocator will advise the Duty Manager of any member of staff who is absent from work or not available for work at the commencement of their shift start time. Ensure compliance with the company’s safety procedures/requirements and document/report any breaches of safety procedures/requirements to the Duty Manager/Manager. Allocate workload, manpower, and equipment in a timely and organised fashion to ensure the most cost-effective utilisation of operational resources. He/She will ensure equal distribution of workload among the workforce. Interact with the workforce in a positive manner to motivate the workforce and encourage a team-based working environment, thereby boosting morale. Pre-plan and pre-allocate the workload and communicate all relevant information to the team leader regarding the allocated task effectively and efficiently. Access the operational manning/equipment requirements on an ongoing basis and advise the Duty Manager in a timely fashion of any operational shortfalls. Deal with all customer enquiries in a polite and professional manner, and communicate all customer issues to the Duty Manager. Handle staff enquiries/issues and ensure that all staff enquiries/issues are brought to the attention of the Duty Manager. Ensure workforce adherence to company policies and Swissport SOPs. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Competencies
In possession of at least three GCSEs/O Levels or Leaving Cert (and equivalent). Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills and experience required. Minimum one year experience in Ramp Service or related field and current customer requirements, time and work recording documents. A good understanding of the Operational setup on the Ramp to effectively resource the team. Ability to lead and motivate effectively in difficult situations under operational pressure. A full driving license. Knowledge about the operation of Ground Service Equipment. Must possess strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Physically fit, able to work in a manual environment and repeatedly lift up to 32kg throughout a shift. Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions. Ability to travel to the airport at times when public transport is not available. Flexible to work on various shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays). Ability to speak and understand the English language.
