M&E Design Manager

on behalf of a well-established and reputable engineering firm in the UK building services industry. Job Summary The successful candidate will oversee and manage the design process for M&E projects, ensuring designs meet client specifications, regulatory requirements, and budgetary constraints. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver innovative and cost-effective design solutions. M&E Design Manager

to join their team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to lead a dynamic team and play a pivotal role in ensuring design excellence across a wide range of projects. Key Responsibilities Manage the design process for M&E projects from concept through to completion. Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and project teams to understand project requirements and deliver tailored design solutions. Oversee and review technical drawings, specifications, and design calculations to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Provide technical guidance to design teams and support the development of innovative, energy-efficient solutions. Coordinate design activities with the installation and project management teams to ensure smooth project delivery. Ensure budgets, schedules, and quality standards are maintained throughout the design phase. Skills & Experience Required A minimum of 5 years experience in an M&E Design Manager role, or a senior design role within the building services industry. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical infrastructure. Proficiency with industry-standard design software, such as AutoCAD and Revit. Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams. A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Building Services is highly desirable.
