About the Company Our client is one of the North-West's leading M&E contractors, currently turning over approximately £17M. Operating across the UK, they provide comprehensive mechanical and electrical services, ranging from design, construction, and installation to facilities management. They work on some of the UK's most prestigious projects, with values ranging from £250K to £6M, covering sectors such as schools, hospitals, high-rise residential, and football grounds. With continued success and exciting growth, they are now looking to recruit a Mechanical Estimator to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities Handle tender preparation from acceptance of enquiry through to final submission, working to strict deadlines across various sectors in the North of England, with projects ranging from £250K to £6M.

Liaise with clients to obtain specific information relevant to tender content and preparation.

Source the best prices for bought-out items and subcontracts, qualifying and analysing subcontractor proposals and quotations.

Conduct a preliminary assessment of overhead costs and prepare tender summaries for management approval.

Prepare detailed cost estimates by analysing plans, specifications, and technical information, including performing quantity take-offs.

Provide design development input at the tender stage for projects requiring the development of an outline client scope into fully detailed costs.

Develop outline project programmes and initial project risk registers.

Comply with Group and Company policies and procedures.

Utilise on-screen take-off and estimating software (training will be provided for the successful candidate).

What Were Looking For A minimum of 5 years experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the building services or engineering sector.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping.

Experience preparing estimates for large-scale projects within the commercial, industrial, or public sectors.

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
