Overview PepsiCo is looking for an R&D Packaging Principal Engineer to join in Leicester. The R&D Packaging Principal Engineer will engage in strategic partnerships with stakeholders within and outside the company to drive value engineering opportunities for Europe Foods. This will be achieved through pipeline development, prioritization and alignment, as well as program execution. Additionally, the role will be responsible for managing the specification system and leading digital transformation initiatives for the Packaging R&D team. Responsibilities

Drive the brand and business agenda utilizing technical expertise and leadership to ensure continued growth and profitability through productivity initiatives, while maintaining packaging performance and quality. Effectively communicate technical benefits/challenges and innovative opportunities based on a thorough understanding of the business needs and requirements. Understand consumer value proposition to proactively drive transformational productivity technologies, systems and best practices to build a robust pipeline. Deliver sustainable packaging productivity (flexibles, rigid, corrugated cases) for Europe Sector throughout PepsiCo supply chain by deploying technology-enabled programmes. Leverage packaging suppliers to deliver both short term work programs and longer term research programmes. Manage specification system and processes to ensure team efficiency and compliance. Lead digital transformational opportunities for the Packaging R&D team to ensure successful setup and implementation. Qualifications

Degree in material, chemical or packaging related field. At least 8 - 10 years experience in Packaging R&D role. Ability to define, influence and drive a programme of projects consistent with key business drivers. Must have strong conceptual, analytical, technical, and project management skills. Must demonstrate an ability to thrive in a fast-paced and consumer driven environment. Effective interpersonal, influencing and communication skills with a proactive and innovative approach to problem solving and new design implementation. Demonstrated ability to drive complex projects to completion in an R&D environment. Proven leadership skills demonstrating strategic thinking & clear setting of agenda. Data interpretation / analytical skills (ability to translate data and information into meaningful insights/simple solutions as well as interpreting consumer insights). Experience in the development and execution of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging materials and have knowledge of the interrelationship with equipment.
