Product Design Manager Location: Blackmill £30,000 - £35,500 per annum STRICTLY NO AGENCY CONTACT - Direct Applicants only Coppice (part of the EP Group) is a market-leading and international supplier of aluminium food packaging, renowned for innovation, quality and service. We have an opening for an experienced Product Designer, within a progressive, market leading food packaging organisation. As a highly skilled and creative Product Designer you will see products through clients' specifications and developing your design skills to deliver market-leading, creative product and packaging solutions which deliver commercial value to the business. Designing and developing products for production and assembly. Produce 3D models for production purposes and any extra documentation needed (2D Drawings, production manuals). Undertake simulations and prototyping. Liaise directly with clients to identify needs and talk through specifications to be an ambassador for the company. Ideal Candidate: Degree within Product Design or Industrial Design (or similar) Knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software Knowledge of SolidWorks software An awareness of manufacturing processes within the packaging sector (including flexible film, paper and board conversion techniques) Comprehensive understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite, or similar Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment - ideally food manufacturing or equivalent Attention to detail across all aspects of the role Ability to meet deadlines and work under time pressures Good IT Proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word) with the ability to learn and use business specific applications Benefits: Competitive salary package Opportunity for professional growth and development Collaborative and innovative work environment Employee wellbeing programs Key Responsibilities: Deliver product and packaging design as a primary service of Coppice, providing direct-customer support (i.e. calls, supported site visits, supported meetings etc.) when required Design and create 3D models, layouts and drawing Produce 3D renderings from client briefs Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts and develop interactive design Ensure that a design project remains within scope, time and budget Ensuring an awareness of leading technologies and trends, including software intelligence, retailer and product trends, new material developments and packaging legislation Working with required teams, including Graphic Designer in respect to photography, artwork and sales/marketing support where required, including market and competitor reviews Conduct international research into the packaging sector including requirements and emerging trends Support a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and innovation, with an emphasis on embracing technology to maximise efficiency Apply today with an up-to-date CV.
