Our Technical team is growing rapidly and plays a key role in supporting our client's journey. Our technical teams and consultants work directly with clients to support the preparation and submission of research and development (R&D) tax relief claims, helping innovative businesses gain the support they deserve. They translate complex technical conversations into concise documentation, interact with both technical and financial teams, and manage R&D claims from start to finish. About the role : The R&D Technical Consultant will be responsible for identifying and assessing R&D projects and working closely with clients to prepare and submit claims. You will translate complex technical conversations into concise documentation, interact with both technical and financial teams, and manage R&D claims from start to finish, including client interactions and CRM management. This role will offer the opportunity for a driven individual to develop a career in consulting, with a specific focus on supporting clients in sectors such as engineering, manufacturing, software development, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, agriculture, construction, and energy. In this role, you'll: Identify qualifying R&D projects through participation in technical discussions with clients. Perform technical assessments of projects in line with HMRC R&D tax relief guidelines and prepare supporting technical documentation. Interact with clients' technical and financial staff to develop a comprehensive understanding of claim benefit value in accordance with HMRC's R&D Tax Relief Guidelines. Prepare claim reports and documentation for client review and approval. Manage R&D claims and maintain client information via the CRM system. Provide support to R&D tax relief claims in the event of HMRC enquiries. We're seeking someone with experience including: Science/Engineering (or similar) degree or postgraduate qualification Prior R&D tax credit experience and understanding of the tax claim process. Experience working in an R&D tax consultancy or at least 2 years of experience in an engineering or industrial field. Strong numerical ability, attention to detail, and first-time accuracy. Ability to translate technical conversation into concise and compelling written documents. Understanding of wider business and economic issues. Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact readily with technical professionals. Comfortable working autonomously and as part of a team.
