We have an international editorial team with our main offices in London and New York. The role The Independent is constantly evolving as a data-informed, diversified media business. A Reader Revenues Analyst – Commercial and Trading Performance is needed to support in the development and growth of The Independent’s Reader Revenues proposition. This role will be focused specifically on growth of our respective reader revenue bases i.e. registered users, subscribers and contributors and maximising their value. This includes everything from user behaviours, journeys and lifecycles to pricing, conversion rate optimisation, marketing effectiveness and life-time value (LTV). This role will support a variety of stakeholders across the business, primarily the Data, Marketing, Editorial, Product and Finance teams by providing high quality reporting and actionable insights and recommendations. The team The Independent Data & Marketing team supports the business in making data-informed decisions which help to grow revenues, drive profit and achieve company objectives. The Data team members provide reader and newsroom analysis, reporting and insights for The Independent across a spectrum of stakeholders in the business. The Marketing team is responsible for defining how we attract, engage and retain our anonymous and known customer base, and for the implementation and delivery of marketing activities and tactics to achieve these goals. The wider team is also responsible for first party data acquisition, segmentation and monetisation together with insights for brand solution campaign optimisations. About you Key responsibilities and accountabilities Interested in data and its applications. Want to learn new applications and tools. Interested in the media or the news. Comfortable working across multiple business functions. Highly motivated, results orientated. Questioning and curious by nature, you will be comfortable with challenging the data and processes. Essential skills and experience Ownership of all core trading performance metrics, including acquisition, base and churn volumes, ARPU and overall revenue. Develop reports and analyses tracking all anonymous, registered and subscribed user activity, covering engagement with the elements of the site and content, marketing engagement and conversion funnel analysis. Build and deploy models and segmentations relating to the user lifecycle – acquire, grow, retain and win back, as well as overall user LTV.
