The role focuses on improving health outcomes in disadvantaged populations globally, with a particular emphasis on Low-Middle Income Countries (LMICs). Reader/Senior Lecturer in Vector Biology Research Area: Vector Biology

, with a focus on vector-borne diseases, ecological and evolutionary approaches to disease ecology and control. Location: Liverpool, UK PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area. Established international reputation in an academic field. Strong record of generating significant/high prestige external funding. Proven experience in research leadership within a Higher Education Institution (HEI). Experience developing multidisciplinary research programmes, including collaboration with academia, industry, and government health organizations. Self-motivated with high levels of initiative, creativity, and strategic problem-solving skills. Job Description: In this role, you will join the Department of Vector Biology, a multi-disciplinary group committed to translating science into public health impact. Key responsibilities include: Initiating, developing, delivering, leading, and publishing internationally excellent research in vector-borne disease ecology and control. Enhancing the reputation and profile of LSTM in vector biology research, especially concerning LMICs. Developing a comprehensive research program and maintaining an extensive track record of published research findings. Influencing high-level internal and external collaborations and driving positive change. Generating grant income and securing significant high prestige funding. Leading and developing external partnerships and collaborations. Overseeing the general teaching and learning strategy within your academic field. Why LSTM?
