To provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Welcome, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare profession in a courteous, efficient, and effective way. Main Duties of the Job

Dealing with appointment, home visits, and telephone requests. Booking, amending, and cancelling patient appointments. Processing of repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines. Initial contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members, and associated healthcare agencies and providers. Filing and retrieving paperwork. Taking messages and passing on information. Keeping the reception area tidy and free from obstructions and clutter. Bringing in path lab results and reallocating where necessary. Importing GP to GP records. Actioning admin emails and internal messages. Actioning master call out of hours reports. Entering new patients onto the system. Entering change of address and name changes into the system. Actioning online registrations. Actioning mother and baby discharges. Managing medical records for insurance companies. Carrying out data entry for patient records. Receiving new patient paper notes from the health authority and entering them onto the system. Scanning of post onto patient records. Coding. Emailing sick notes and referrals to patients and hospitals. Completing tasks sent from internal users. Ensuring patient confidentiality is kept at all times. Completing annual mandatory training. St Johns Medical Centre is located in the market town of Altrincham within the borough of Trafford, Greater Manchester. We have a clinical team of 8 GP Partners, 6 Salaried GPs, 4 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs & 1 Phlebotomist, all supported by a large reception and admin team. Job Responsibilities

Flexible approach to undertaking a wide variety of tasks. Highly motivated. Experience of answering telephone calls in a high call volume environment. Experience of working as part of a team. Experience of customer service. Experience of working in a busy NHS environment. Experience of clinical systems, Emis web, Docman, and Ask my GP. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
