Acting as a catalyst in questioning expert professional knowledge within the team influencing application of theory in practice. Developing sound clinical skills and competency within their defined field working without direct supervision to ensure the application of professional standards in all aspects of care delivery within the clinical environment. Demonstrating awareness of the appropriateness of transferable skills when providing individualised high-quality patient care. Participate in ensuring the effective use of all financial resources in providing and delivering the service. Demonstrate awareness of the need for Cost Improvement Programmes within the service. Promote effective utilisation of theatre.
The post holder will promote life-long learning through the use of appropriate coaching, teaching and assessment in practice by: Contributing to a supportive learning environment, which enables all members of the team to develop. Developing competency in self to support the maximisation of team efficiency through recognition and effective utilisation of all appropriate development resources and opportunities. Developing the ability to recognise and highlight to appropriate personnel any deficits in the learning environment. Demonstrating understanding and awareness of underpinning theoretical knowledge within their clinical practice of Infection Control, Health and Safety, Ethical and Legal issues and sharing this knowledge with less experienced staff and students assigned to the clinical area of expertise. Supporting those developments, which contribute to the achievement of organisational, team, and individual goals within the department.

To be eligible for this position you must be a registered nurse or an Operating Department Practitioner. You will be enthusiastic, dynamic, motivated and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This post involves a 24hr working pattern including weekends and night duty.
We are the acute site providing a 24-hour emergency service for both adult and paediatric patients. We have seven main theatres covering specialties such as laparoscopic surgery, ENT, urology, gynaecology, orthopaedic trauma, emergencies, general surgery and obstetrics. This post involves face-to-face contact with patients. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that the postholder may come into contact with people who have COVID-19. The role involves working 37.5 hours per week, across 7 days Monday - Sunday, including days and nights.
