Working towards Level 5 Early Years Educator, the apprentice will be expected to care for and educate babies and children aged 0-5 years, reporting on their development and learning as part of our fabulous team. We have 2 full-time vacancies for enthusiastic and energetic apprentice Nursery Practitioners to join our dedicated and caring professionals, caring for and educating babies and children aged 0-5 years. The right candidate must be committed to completing their coursework in a timely manner, whilst upholding the Early Birds ethos in the pursuit of excellence, creating a stimulating environment where babies and children can grow and flourish. Leadership and Management • Leading and inspiring teams to deliver outstanding early years practice. • Acting as a role model for high standards of professionalism and pedagogy. • Supporting the development and performance of staff through mentoring, coaching, and supervision. • Implementing policies and procedures in line with regulatory frameworks and organisational goals. • Monitoring and maintaining compliance with safeguarding, health, and safety requirements. Curriculum Development • Designing and implementing a high-quality curriculum that aligns with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. • Ensuring educational activities meet the developmental needs of all children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). • Encouraging child-centered approaches that promote play-based and inquiry-led learning. Child Development • Monitoring and assessing children’s progress to ensure they meet developmental milestones. • Supporting the implementation of individualised learning plans. • Working closely with parents and carers to involve them in their child’s learning and development. Partnership Building • Collaborating with external professionals, such as health visitors, social workers, and speech therapists. • Building positive relationships with families to create a supportive and inclusive environment. • Liaising with local authorities and ensuring adherence to legal requirements and sector standards. Quality Improvement • Leading reflective practice sessions to evaluate and improve the quality of provision. • Staying updated with current research, legislation, and best practices in early years education. • Driving continuous improvement through self-assessment, audits, and action plans. Safeguarding and Welfare • Responding to safeguarding concerns and maintaining accurate records. • Promoting an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated. Administrative Responsibilities • Maintaining up-to-date records of children’s progress and staff performance. • Supporting recruitment, induction, and retention of staff.
