About the Role:

As the Head of Construction (South), you will report to the Regional Head of Delivery and oversee all aspects of planning, scheduling, building, and installations for high-value contracts. This leadership role will involve guiding the construction team, maintaining strong client and supplier relationships, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with Construction Design Management (CDM 2015), health and safety, and industry regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialist construction projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Lead and develop the construction team with a clear vision and strategic direction.
  • Develop detailed project plans covering timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Conduct quality inspections and audits, manage stock, and implement remedial actions as needed.
  • Manage work orders, permits, traffic management, and related administrative tasks.
  • Identify and cultivate outsourcing and subcontractor partnerships to meet regional demands.
  • Oversee regional construction budgets and ensure accurate monthly forecasting.
  • Maintain updated specifications, manuals, and technical information for all products.
  • Implement and uphold health and safety policies, ensuring adherence to traffic management requirements.


Required Knowledge & Experience:

  • Degree (Foundation/Bachelor’s/Master’s) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a proven track record in large-scale project delivery.
  • Comprehensive understanding of CDM and traffic management regulations.
  • Membership in a relevant professional institution (e.g., CIOB or APM).
  • Proficiency in project management software.
