The role of the Regional Lead Midwife is an exciting midwifery leadership role in the East of England Region to support the Regional Chief Midwife. The postholder will work with key stakeholders across the health system to provide strategic leadership and professional guidance regionally. They will hold responsibility for the delivery of key objectives including leading on the maternity workforce and leadership agenda, new hospital programme, and support programmes of work relating to maternity policy, strategy, and professional priorities. Working as part of a dynamic team engaging with colleagues, managers, senior staff, and LMNS Leads across the region to support the provision of personalised, safe evidence-based maternity care for all women across the East of England. Main duties of the job

As a Maternity Lead, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the region: Lead by example ensuring collaborative approaches to working and relationships are at the forefront of practice. Ensure that women, families, and the local population are central to all activities. Question and support in equal measure, enabling transformation and critical enquiry into practice and delivery. Seek out opportunities to collaborate with others ensuring embedded practice, operational and research-centered outcomes. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Improving quality and outcomes Lead to better outcomes for women, families, and local populations through systematic, evidence-based approaches that enable both improvement and transformation. Lead on the thematic review of maternity quality intelligence to enable learning to be applied across the system. Work collaboratively across the NHS England matrix, including integrating the National Director’s portfolio with the Domain Leads. Person specification Qualifications

Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a specialist area. Registered Midwife. Skills & Knowledge

Present complex and sensitive information to large & influential groups. Problem-solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands. Ability to analyse complex facts and situations and develop a range of options. Experience

Subject matter expertise across a number of key areas. Experience in maternity workforce management. Experience in interface with Higher Education Institutes.
