Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be working closely with a market-leading multi-disciplinary consultancy on the hire of a Regional Director of Planning for their team in Cambridge. As Regional Director, you will be responsible for leading the planning team in the Norwich office, managing and leading the office and encouraging cross-working across a wider range of disciplines. The role will also involve assisting the Director of Planning in the overall management of the Planning Division as directed, and to be an ambassador for the company by winning new business and playing a prominent role in helping to develop the business. Qualifications & Experience

An RTPI accredited degree or Masters in a related discipline. Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute. The ideal candidate will have a Planning degree and substantial professional experience, preferably with some experience of working in the private sector including having led on large scale schemes and projects. Appropriate experience in people management and operating at a strategic operation level. Experienced in transformational change and mentoring individuals at a more junior level. Strong client management and resolution including the ability to present at senior levels and across a range of stakeholders, and to large audiences. Excellent project management and organisational skills. Strong report writing skills and ability to review colleagues’ work providing constructive feedback. A strong awareness of local politics and the interface between planning and politics. Exemplary knowledge and expertise of planning practice legislation across England and Wales. Outstanding project management skills coupled with timeliness, accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to prioritise workloads and juggle competing demands.
