We are looking for a
Regional Service Manager
to join our team on a 15-month FTC for our team in the North covering Yorkshire, Lancashire, and Cumbria. Reporting to the Regional Business Manager, you will be responsible for driving profitable growth by overseeing technical services and ensuring effective leadership of specialists and service team leaders. You will combine your skills in business management, team development, and customer relationship management to deliver year-on-year growth. You will manage the regional service business, including P&L responsibility, staff development, and fostering collaboration between service and sales teams to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Business Management:
Drive service business growth within the region to achieve year-on-year profitability. Manage the regional P&L by increasing revenue, enhancing margins, and controlling costs. Continuously evaluate service performance and take corrective actions as needed. Participate in key projects and regional service manager meetings, supporting peers as required.
Team Leadership:
Oversee staff appraisals, training, development, and performance management to enhance workforce capability. Conduct regular ride-outs and engage in recruitment, absence management, and conduct matters. Organize team meetings and activities to keep staff informed, motivated, and aligned with business goals.
Collaboration and Networking:
Partner with sales teams and the Regional Business Manager to identify opportunities for growth and support RMS service implementation for new customers. Build strong working relationships across functions, including Finance, IT, Marketing, HR, and Health and Safety. Engage internal subject matter experts for training and development opportunities for the team.
Customer Engagement and Representation:
Represent the company's products, services, and brand at events, sales promotions, and customer meetings. Promote a high level of customer service and professionalism by maintaining cleanliness and compliance with hygiene standards. Monitor competitor activity, market opportunities, and risks while expanding your professional network.
Operational Excellence:
Work with the Regional Field Support Manager to optimize the fleet of vehicles. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations for yourself and your team, both on-site and while driving company vehicles.
Other Responsibilities:
Actively participate in monthly meetings and assist in addressing regional challenges as needed. Take on additional duties as assigned by the line manager to support business objectives.
Requirements
Proven experience in people management, with a focus on team development and performance enhancement. Background in direct sales or experience within an agricultural business. Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively. Excellent communication skills, adaptable to various levels of stakeholders. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
