Our Power & Cooling Engineers are essential to keeping BT’s networks running 24/7, 365 days a year. Utilising their expertise in both low and high voltage systems, alarms, emergency lighting, cooling, and UPS, they ensure that the BT estate remains operational under all circumstances. Working with experienced teams within our exchange buildings and other environments, including radio sites, rooftops, and outdoor locations, they support a variety of power systems and cooling equipment that keep the UK’s internet functioning. They play a vital role in helping us meet strict SLAs, using their diverse skills to take ownership of their areas and mentor their colleagues. What You'll Be Doing

Leading by Example: Share knowledge and support new team members, embodying BT values throughout your career and being an integral part of the wider team. Proactive Reporting: Identify and report HSE, compliance, and design issues to the Power Environmental or Power Technical Support teams. Ownership and Responsibility: Take ownership of your designated patch and sites, contributing to area, regional, and unit objectives, and handle critical and urgent network repair, provision, and maintenance activities. Collaboration and Best Practices: Share best practices and support colleagues in applying new ideas, technologies, or processes, ensuring alignment with team and unit priorities through coordination with patch managers and senior colleagues. Risk Assessment and Compliance: Conduct risk assessments for health and safety, raise issues or risks to senior individuals to facilitate change, and ensure compliance with all required regulations, including health surveillance. Continuous Improvement and Development: Understand expectations, proactively seek opportunities to enhance your skills, and suggest improvements to processes within your work area and beyond. The Skills and Experience You'll Need

Mandatory: Must be able to fulfil the physical requirements of the role, including bending, stretching, kneeling, crouching, climbing, working at floor and ceiling levels inside buildings, tower structures, and roadside infrastructure, lifting heavy drums/cables, and recognising coloured wiring. Electrical competency: City & Guilds 2360 parts 1+2 or equivalent NVQ. BTEC Electrical Engineering Level 3/HNC/HND/MOET Level 3/ET Level 3. 18th Edition Regulations. Inspection, Testing and Verification (C&G 2392-10). Individuals will be required to hold a Full UK Driving Licence. Preferred experience: Experience with Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS): Demonstrable experience in repairing and maintaining UPS systems. HVAC Refrigeration C&G/NVQ Level 3: Qualified in HVAC refrigeration, with practical experience. Coaching, Mentoring, or Supervisory Experience: Ability to guide, mentor, and supervise less experienced engineers. Self-Starting: Ability to work autonomously without supervision, proactively achieving desired outcomes and using initiative. Problem Solving: Ability to address a variety of issues and effectively implement solutions as required. Benefits:
