Contribute to the delivery of the Corporate Plan and the effective operation of the Service in line with the organisation's workforce values. Consult, engage and advise customers, communities, colleagues, elected Members, and other interested parties as required by legislation, policy, and professional good practice and ensure effective and high-quality responses to all enquiries and comments (including corporate complaints). Present at meetings and other high-level public meetings. Act at all times in accordance with Health and Safety policies/aspects/issues, first aid/manual handling etc., in relation to the working environment, i.e., hazardous materials and relevant processes/legislations etc. Lead on the marketing of Building Control Services, seeking to maximise the take-up of services and income generation, including assisting with the development of relevant publicity strategies. Manage, train, develop, and advise Building Control staff. Inspect work on site at all stages of construction and carry out appropriate tests of fittings and materials. Make inspections and write reports concerning dangerous structures, unauthorised buildings, and contraventions of the Building Regulations, Public Health Acts, etc. Personal Requirements:
Building Control experience (at least 3 years). Local Authority Building Control experience (Desirable). Achieved a BSR Registration Class "2A to F" (not just 2A). Ability to carry out the full range of duties i.e., Plan checking and site inspections. Transport required for site inspections. Working Hours:
37hrs / 9:00am - 17:30pm / Monday to Friday Pay:
£66.08 p/h Please note this role is within the scope of IR35.
