About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Children's Home Manager to help lead and support the opening of a brand new children's home in Leighton Buzzard. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fresh start, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the ethos, culture, and care practices of the home from the ground up. The home will support children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and you'll be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing environment for their growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the opening and setup of the children's home, ensuring it meets all statutory and regulatory requirements. Provide strong leadership to the care team, ensuring a high standard of care is consistently delivered. Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to the individual needs of each child, focusing on their SEMH needs. Establish and maintain a positive and supportive environment for both staff and children. Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding protocols, and internal policies. Be a key figure in recruitment, training, and supporting staff, helping to create a cohesive and dedicated team. Foster strong relationships with children, their families, and external stakeholders, ensuring the best outcomes for the children in your care. Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory and company standards.

Skills and Experience: Previous experience in a managerial role within a children's home, ideally with SEMH expertise. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent). In-depth knowledge of children's safeguarding, SEMH, and regulatory frameworks such as Ofsted. Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities. Passion for improving the lives of children and creating a positive, trauma-informed environment.
