Job Title : Registered Children’s Manager Location : Birmingham Salary : £60,000 per annum Contract Type : Full-time, Permanent Job Overview : Claire at Amber Mace is recruiting for an experienced Registered Children’s Manager to join the team at a 4-bedded EBD home based in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in managing children’s homes and working with young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). You will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional care, creating a safe environment, and ensuring that the service meets the highest standards of care and compliance. Key Responsibilities : Lead and manage the children's home, overseeing daily operations, ensuring that the home meets the individual needs of the children and complies with all regulatory requirements. Ensure high-quality care and support for children and young people, particularly those with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), promoting their wellbeing, development, and safety. Manage a team of staff, providing leadership, training, and support to ensure the highest standards of care. You will be responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and supervising care staff. Develop and implement care plans, risk assessments, and individualised support strategies to meet the complex needs of each child in line with statutory and regulatory guidelines. Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and other relevant legislation, working towards achieving and maintaining outstanding or good ratings. Work closely with external professionals, such as social workers, therapists, and educational providers, to ensure the holistic care and progression of each child. Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring that financial and operational targets are met without compromising on the quality of care provided. Provide regular reports on the home’s performance, children’s progress, and any incidents or concerns, to senior management and regulatory bodies as required. Ensure staff training and development are up to date, in line with the latest best practices and regulations in children’s care. Essential Qualifications and Experience : Strong knowledge of managing children’s homes, including proven experience in a Registered Manager role. Experience working with young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), understanding the unique challenges and approaches required. QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent qualification. Extensive knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, children’s legislation, and best practices in residential care. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team while building positive relationships with children, families, and professionals. Proven track record of achieving and maintaining high standards of care and compliance within a children’s residential setting. Ability to manage budgets, staff rotas, and other administrative duties efficiently. Benefits : A competitive salary of £60,000 per annum. Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
