Registered Home Manager - Dorchester, Dorset Our client in Dorchester, Dorset is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Registered Home Manager to lead and manage a residential home providing supportive living for young people who are under Local Authority Care status. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall operation and management of the home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care that meets the individual needs and aspirations of each young person. Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the home complies with all relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice guidelines (e.g., OFSTED, Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations, Children Act 1989, Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) requirements). Act as the Designated Manager for the home, responsible for all safeguarding matters and ensuring the safety and well-being of all young people. Lead and manage the staff team, including recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management. Develop and implement effective care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans. Ensure the home provides a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes the emotional, social, and personal development of young people. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including care plans, incident reports, and medication records. Represent the home at relevant meetings, building and maintaining positive relationships with young people, their families, social workers, MASH Team, and other professionals. Oversee the budget and ensure the efficient and effective use of resources. Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided and implement improvements where necessary. Promote a positive and inclusive culture within the home. Leadership & Management:

Provide strong leadership and direction to the staff team, fostering a positive and supportive working environment. Motivate and inspire the team to deliver high-quality care. Develop and maintain effective communication channels with all stakeholders. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Build and maintain strong relationships with young people, their families, and external agencies. Be a role model for staff in terms of professionalism and ethical conduct. Essential Skills & Experience:

Must be fully registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as a Registered Manager. Experienced as a Registered Manager within a residential setting for children and young people, preferably with experience of supporting young people under LAC status. In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice guidelines (e.g., CQC regulations, Children Act 1989, safeguarding procedures). Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and lead a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Strong understanding of safeguarding issues and experience in implementing effective safeguarding procedures. Proficient in using IT systems and software packages. Hold a full UK Driving licence and have access to a car. Desirable Skills & Experience:

Experience of working with young people with specific needs (e.g., emotional and behavioural difficulties, mental health needs). Relevant qualifications in children and young people's care (e.g., Diploma in Residential Child Care). Experience of working with young people under LAC status. Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or other relevant therapeutic interventions.
