experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses for our base in Stevenage on a flexible 24/7 zero-hour contract. This role provides high-quality care to all patients within Prometheus' business streams, including secure patient transport and therapeutic observational services. The ideal candidate would be responsible for the safety and well-being of patients whilst in the care of Prometheus and maintain the patient's dignity throughout the service. In addition, they must act within their sphere of responsibility, managing themselves and other team members and will have a working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and local and national policies. Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will demonstrate that they possess high levels of therapeutic care and deliver this across all business areas whilst leading a team of healthcare professionals in a potentially challenging environment. Responsibilities

Adhere to company guidelines for checking vehicles and equipment before the journey commences. Report any issues or stock replacement to the Fleet Manager/Supervisor. Take precautions to safeguard the welfare and safety of staff, patients, and the public by implementing all policies and procedures relating to security. Contribute and work towards the company's aims and objectives. Understand and promote issues of equality, diversity, and rights following legislation and good practice. Read, understand, and comply with all relevant company policies and procedures. Ensure accurate and timely records comply with company policies and report any issues as appropriate. Communicate with patients, Prometheus staff, and staff at collection and delivery addresses, actively listening to patient needs. Job responsibilities

Provide care to individuals with a variety of mental health conditions, building therapeutic relationships. Manage specific symptoms of mental illness, de-escalation, and help patients overcome challenges. Liaise with doctors, social workers, and other professionals. Interact with patients' families and caregivers, offering advice and information on patients' conditions. Prepare and maintain patient records, producing care plans and risk assessments. Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care. Carry out physical intervention with a patient if required. Lead a staff team, including HCAs, throughout the patient conveyance or therapeutic observational service. Ensure adequate handover of the patient's details, including risk history and current presentation, from the Clinical Logistics Manager or healthcare professional responsible for the patient at the collection address. Provide crisis intervention to patients experiencing mental health difficulties during conveyance or therapeutic observational service. Be aware of relevant national and local policies regarding safeguarding children and adults. Attend all appropriate training, meetings, and reviews. Maintain a professional attitude and response to ensure good working relationships between staff and patients throughout the transfer. Report accidents, complaints, and untoward incidents promptly to the Clinical Logistics Manager. Attend the Prometheus base at the required time as instructed by the Clinical Logistics Manager, following the company uniform policy. Assist the Operations Manager/Rota Manager in ensuring all staff follow agreed policies and procedures detailed by Prometheus. Minimum Requirements

Current Valid NMC Pin Excellent written and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy. Proactive and positive self-starter. Excellent teamwork skills. Well-organised with good time management skills. Valid Enhanced DBS or on the update service. Currently working in a compliance-focused role. Full UK Driving Licence. Please note we

Qualifications

Registered Mental Health Nurse with a valid NMC pin and must have a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience within a mental health setting. Robust clinical knowledge, strong initiative, and a proactive approach to work. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Honesty and integrity, and a very caring, patient-centered approach.
