Duties
Conduct comprehensive assessments of pregnant women, including physical examinations and medical histories.
Provide prenatal education and counselling to expectant mothers regarding pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care.
Assist in the delivery process, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and child.
Monitor the health of mothers and infants during labour and after delivery, providing necessary interventions as required.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Collaborate with obstetricians, paediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans.
Offer emotional support to families during the childbirth experience, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
Stay updated on advancements in midwifery practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) qualification with a midwifery specialisation or equivalent certification.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and colleagues.
Proficient in IT systems for maintaining patient records and managing healthcare documentation.
Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in maternity care is preferred but not essential for newly qualified midwives eager to learn.
