This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Cardiology specialty as a Staff Nurse. Our department encompasses an 8 bedded Coronary Care Unit which is the PPCI Centre for Norfolk, 37 bedded acute Cardiology Ward, Cardiac Elective Area and Angiography suite. Our center provides some of the latest Cardiology interventions in our 5 Cath Labs and is involved in National and International Research projects.

Main duties of the job This role would involve assessing, planning and implementing care for the acute cardiology patients within the hospital. You would care for patients post MI, pre and post procedures, heart failure, arrhythmias, pre and post cardiac surgery amongst others.

The Band 5 role is rotational therefore you would have the opportunity to work within all the above teams to optimize your skills as a Cardiology Nurse. There are also lots of learning and development opportunities within the department for you to become involved in.

Maintain a high standard of nursing care applying evidence-based practice. Carry out assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care without supervision. Carry out the daily personal care of patients. Maintain accurate records of all care given. Update patient administration systems e.g. PAS to ensure real time data collection and confidentiality. To effectively use information technology for the benefit of patient care in accordance with the Trusts Cyber Code of Conduct. To maintain confidentiality of information (written, verbal, electronic), whilst being aware of the Freedom for Information Act. To promptly and effectively communicate relevant changes in patient status to the multi-disciplinary team. Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, carers, significant others, the multi-disciplinary team and support services.
