Registered Nurse (Child and/or Learning Disability)

Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw is a dynamic and responsive specialist care provider for adults, children, and young people with palliative and end-of-life care needs. We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our energetic, friendly, specialist palliative care team on Jigsaw Children’s Hospice. Based in Carlisle, we have a 10-bed inpatient unit, day hospice, and children’s hospice. We work collaboratively across the county with strong links to other care providers. Jigsaw is a place of fun and laughter where children and young adults can stay and create memories that will last a lifetime. Our team provides one-to-one care for children and young adults with life-limiting illnesses. Our home-from-home environment allows the nurses to match the children and young adults' home routines as closely as possible, ensuring a smooth, relaxing, and peaceful transition between home and hospice environments. You will be working as part of a supportive and welcoming multidisciplinary team with time to care for and build relationships with children, young people, and their families. Nursing roles within Jigsaw are incredibly fulfilling. The hospice’s vision is to provide excellence in specialist palliative care and to ensure patients receive consistently high standards of care in all care settings within the organisation. Eden Valley Hospice provides a creative and unique environment with many opportunities for personal and professional growth and pay progression. A willingness to advance skills is therefore essential. There is a culture of reflection, training, support, and development for all staff, with access to regular clinical supervision and training. You will be required to work various shifts across the week (12 hours) on rotation between days, nights, and weekends. We strongly encourage applications from newly qualified nurses, who will be supported with a preceptorship programme. We offer some great benefits including generous shift enhancements, free on-site parking, access to our Employee Assistance Programme, and for eligible employees, the opportunity to remain in the NHS pension scheme.
