Ward 4 is a 32 bedded Acute care of the Elderly ward. Patient safety is embedded in everything we do. Our aim is to provide an excellent patient experience from admission to discharge ensuring all physical and mental health needs are met. Main duties of the job
Ward 4 is a care of the elderly ward which cares for patients with a wide range of needs, from acutely unwell patients to managing long term conditions, complex discharge planning to end of life care, working alongside AHPs to provide effective care planning for patients who have more complex care needs. Qualifications
Registered Nurse, with active registration NST 307 or equivalent Relevant training at level 2 or equivalent ECDL or equivalent Further relevant training at level 3 or equivalent Experience
Post registration patient care Teaching/Mentoring Able to deal with a constantly changing workload Knowledge
Continuing professional development, with portfolio NMC code of conduct Clinical governance Results Interpretation Leadership Skills
Well developed interpersonal and communication skills Extended clinical skills e.g. venepuncture, ECG interpretation Able to work within a team without close supervision Ability to demonstrate the compassionate values and behaviours needed for dignified care Organisational skills Interpreting baseline observations Able to use initiative appropriately Personal Circumstances
Empathy Motivation Positive approach to change Non-judgemental Other requirements
Willing to undertake teaching and educate other professionals and students Commitment to continuing professional development Disclosure and Barring Service Check
