REGISTERED NURSE - EMERGENCY ROOM
- Level 5 trauma center, receives STEMIs and strokes. - # Beds/Trauma Bays: 4, 2. - We don’t hold ED patients except for delayed transfers (a few hours) or repeat lab work. - On average, how many patients do you treat in the ER/day? 6-15. - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1 Nurse on at a time. Required Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, ENPC, (PALS preferred) Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients:
Standard ED patients with a multitude of ailments and injuries. Experience or 'Must Have' Skills:
Usual ED Nursing skills, kindness, empathy, time management, critical thinking skills, IV skills, monitor skills, flexibility, understanding, professionalism. Common Drips:
NS, LR, ABX, occasional Cardizem and insulin gtts. ED Staffing:
- All midlevel staffing with NPs. 1 at a time and they are in-house 24/7. - CNAs on Med/Surg and Paramedics are occasionally available to assist in the ED in times of high volume or acuity. RT Equipment:
Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc. RNs are required to troubleshoot, CRNA will assist when needed. VERY limited use of vents. Transport:
Transport across the hall to Radiology. Lab Draws:
Lab draws are done by Lab staff unless an IV is being started and the Nurse feels comfortable drawing off of the IV start. Weekend Requirements:

To Acute (med/surg). Scrub Color/Dress Code:
Any color as long as it is clean and fits appropriately. Sign On Bonus:
$5,000 Sign On Bonus is offered for RNs, 50% paid out at 90 Days, and the other 50% at 6 months. Shift Details:
