We’re recruiting now for full time (37.5 hours per week) Band 5 RGN primary care nurses to work within our prison services in HMPYOI Deerbolt. Every day is different for a prison nurse, as you’ll work within varied roles including: Primary care nursing Minor injuries and illnesses Emergency and urgent care Health assessment and wellbeing checks Long term conditions The welcome payment is payable to new candidates joining Spectrum Community Health CIC. Main duties of the job
We are a multi-disciplinary team collaborating with other services like GP, Optometry, Dentist, Podiatry, Physiotherapy, Sexual health, Substance Misuse and Mental health. To help us deliver our extensive range of services, you’ll be a qualified registered nurse (RGN) with a passion to deliver high-quality clinical care and a commitment to the rehabilitation of offenders. You’ll be self-motivated, have a sound knowledge base and excellent communications skills. Experience of working within the prison environment is not necessary as full induction and training will be provided. Working for our organisation

Registered Nurse Level 1 – Adult /General/Mental Health Mentorship / supervision/teaching / assessing experience/ training Qualifications
Knowledge of current healthcare issues. Knowledge of clinical governance audit, risk management and quality agenda Working within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team Competent in clinical practice e.g., phlebotomy, ECG monitoring Worked in a complex environment managing deteriorating patients Experience of working within a Health & Justice environment. Experience of health needs assessment/Triage Working to Patient Group Directives Management / Minor Injuries Experience of using SystmOne or willing to undertake training You must have appropriate UK professional registration. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
