Job overview
To provide a comprehensive physical health service as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team to patients with physical health needs within Health & Justice. In conjunction with the management team contribute to and deliver a comprehensive Primary Health Service in partnership with mental health and key stakeholders as part of a multidisciplinary team within the prison setting. This role involves undertaking health assessments, administering medication and treatments, performing diagnostic tests, as appropriate, and providing and evaluating a range of health interventions to meet prisoner health and social care needs. Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to work flexibly across the service to provide responsive, evidence-based interventions working alongside physical and mental health clinical teams. The postholder will be part of a team that provides primary care within a prison, preventing transfer to outside hospitals. They will demonstrate knowledge, skills and understanding of health issues and treatment options and have a keen interest in developing knowledge and skills across the integrated services. NMC Registered
Registered Nurse Level 1 – Adult / General/Mental Health Mentorship / supervision/teaching / assessing experience/ training Knowledge
Knowledge of current healthcare issues. Knowledge of clinical governance audit, risk management and quality agenda. Working within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team. Competent in clinical practice e.g., phlebotomy, ECG monitoring Worked in a complex environment managing deteriorating patients Understanding and application of confidentiality Experience of working within a Health & Justice environment. Experience of health needs assessment/Triage Working to Patient Group Directives Management / Minor Injuries Experience of using SystmOne or willing to undertake training Employer certification / accreditation badges
