Registered Nurses are integral to the interdisciplinary medical team providing healthcare services to detainees at the Immigration Holding Centre in Surrey. As a Registered Nurse on the team, you are responsible for providing 24/7 nursing services to individuals with a wide range of medical and mental health concerns. You will complete comprehensive patient assessments, administer medication, respond to traumas, and assist in running clinics with the visiting Physicians, Psychiatrists, and Psychologists. This role is well suited to Registered Nurses who are capable of working autonomously within their scope of practice. We are offering nurses the opportunity to work 12 hr night shifts exclusively. Shifts available Monday-Sunday. Responsibilities
Performing medical assessments Checking and monitoring basic vital signs Collecting blood samples and fluids Treating medical emergencies for patients experiencing issues such as heart attacks or strokes Managing or responding to outbreaks such as influenza and other contagious diseases Preparing, distributing, and administering prescriptions and over-the-counter medications Maintaining and updating medical files Qualifications
Must be licensed as an RN and in good standing in British Columbia Have minimum 3 years of post-graduate experience as a Registered Nurse. Must have experience in emergency, acute/medical or urgent care settings. Additional Requirements
You must be able to obtain a Government of Canada Security Clearance at the Reliability level You must be able to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Police Check Pay rate: $52 - $56, plus night shift premium
