An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Nurse who will deliver effective nursing care within the Rheumatology Day Unit at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli.

The unit is currently open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and the position is for 22.5 hours.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will ensure patients receive safe, individualised and effective standards of care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating their care. The post holder will perform venepuncture/cannulation and administer intravenous drugs to patients attending the Rheumatology Day Unit. There will also be a requirement to assist in Rheumatology outpatient clinics as needed.

The post holder will use patient information systems to admit/discharge patients in the Rheumatology Day Unit and use the Rheumatology software electronic notes system (WPAS/WCP). The post holder may be expected to take charge of the area in the absence of the Clinical Nurse Specialists.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
