The Role
We are looking to recruit a Registered Nurse to join the Medical team at University Hospital Hairmyres!
The successful candidate will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients.
The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision.
The post holder may be required to demonstrate procedures to and supervise registered and/or unregistered staff, as well as student nurses.

Contract type
Permanent / Band 5 / Part Time / 29.7 hours
Please note this is a part-time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Ward 11, Medical within University Hospital Hairmyres.
The working pattern for this role:
2x - 11.5 hour shifts
1x - 6 hour 36 minute shift

What we'll need you to bring
Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
Excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative
Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Excellent time management skills
Working knowledge of basic information technology
It would be great if you also have
Evidence of further education and continuous professional development Educated at degree level in a Health related subject
Current Acute NHS experience
Knowledge of Gastroenterology clinical conditions, their treatments and the nursing care required
Expanded practice in a range of clinical skills: (Intravenous Drug Administration, Phlebotomy, Cannulation, ECG recording, Male Catheterisation)
Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
Genuine enthusiasm to work within the Medical/Gastroenterology care setting
