As a Registered Nurse, you will be accountable for the assessment and planning of resident needs, delivery of skilled procedures, medication administration, and documentation in accordance with quality management, legislative requirements, and Sienna Senior Living standards. How You’ll Succeed:
Provide Resident Care and Services
Utilizes sound nursing practice principles to ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care. Provides nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures and provincial regulatory RN scope of practice requirements. Collaborates with the resident or their substitute decision maker about their needs, preferences, and health status. Creates, develops, and evaluates plan of care and goals of care with the resident or their substitute decision maker.
Provide Supervision, Assistance & Oversight
Demonstrates a professional working knowledge of all equipment used in the delivery of nursing care. Assists with the development and implementation of policies and guidelines. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet the needs of the resident. Participates in conferences with the interdisciplinary team providing care to the residents.
Provide Leadership and Guidance
Acts as a role model for nursing team members. Participates and/or delivers in-services and education with other nursing and team members. Teaches RPN/LPN’s and PSW/HCA’s in relation to new skills. Fosters team learning by sharing knowledge among peers.
Who you are:
Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent. Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives. Knowledgeable with nursing process, developments, and current trends in the geriatric care field. Compassionate and dedicated to meaningful work that supports seniors. Effective verbal and written English communication skills. Demonstrated administrative and computer skills with experience in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to set priorities and organize work in response to patient needs. Proficiency in both official languages, French and English, is considered an asset. What you need to know:
