The Haem/Onc Day Unit in the Woodlands Centre at Hinchingbrooke Hospital is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible registered Nurse. Our state-of-the-art Haem/Onc Day Unit opened in August 2016 and treats cancer patients with varying systemic anti-cancer treatments and other supportive therapies. The day unit is open five days per week Mon-Fri.
Please note we are only able to accept applications from those with a live NMC registration or UK nursing students awaiting their PIN as we are unable to support OSCE at this time.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate would ideally have some experience of working within oncology and delivery of SACT; however, full training and support could be provided to the right candidate. Our staff are important to us so you will be given opportunities to develop and also to engage in improving services for patients and staff.
The post holder is responsible for providing care to patients requiring chemotherapy treatment and who wants to further their experience and skills within nursing.
The post holder is expected to take charge of the unit when required and be able to demonstrate good clinical skills to teach other staff and learners.
The post holder will work collaboratively with all disciplines and effectively manage resources to assure a high standard of care for patients/clients, their relatives, and carers.
