Are you a Registered Nursing Associate, or just about to finish your Foundation Degree? Do you aspire to make a positive contribution to nursing in the community? Do you want an exciting and interesting job which is different every day? If you’ve answered yes to the questions above, we’d love to hear from you! The Weymouth and Portland Community Nursing Team would like to welcome a Registered Nursing Associate to join our supportive team. Working with people in their own homes is a privileged position - we continually invest in growing and developing our staff to ensure the very best care to people accessing our services is achieved. We understand that the transition from Trainee to Registered Nursing Associate can be both exciting and anxiety provoking at the same time. As a RNA, you will be allocated a named preceptor in the clinical team who will support you whilst you find your feet and help you to identify areas of your practice you wish to develop. We’d be happy to hear from you and answer any questions you may have. We’d also like to hear from you if you are approaching the end of your Nursing Associate Foundation Degree and are considering Community Nursing as your first post. Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position. You will deliver planned care to a group of patients working within the standards of proficiency outlined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and in accordance with Trust policies and protocols. You will demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide support/guidance to less experienced staff/learners within the clinical environment as needed. You will manage a defined group of patients/service users under the indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse, using evidence based/client centred principles to undertake a range of delegated tasks independently. You will contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient/service user care. Take responsibility for planned/defined tasks as required. Plan and undertake clinical tasks guided by standard operating procedures and protocols. Delegate work to support worker staff and learners, as required. Take responsibility for the training of others and may be required to deliver training. We would welcome applications from newly qualified Nurse Associates and we provide a very comprehensive and fully supported Preceptorship Programme for newly qualified healthcare professionals. Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check. At Dorset HealthCare, we’re on a mission to empower people to make the most of their lives through our outstanding, joined-up healthcare services. We’re a dynamic, forward-looking Trust, running 12 community hospitals, specialist inpatient facilities and a wide range of integrated community and mental health services for a population of almost 800,000 people. We do things differently here – it’s one of the reasons the CQC rated us ‘outstanding’ in 2019. It’s also why 95% of patients across our services say they have a good or very good experience of our services and 89% of staff feel they can really make a difference. Whether you’re looking to work with us in one of our bustling market towns, vibrant urban locations, thriving seaside spots, or among the rolling hills of Dorset, there are lots of ways you can make a difference in our communities.
