Registered Veterinary Nurse - Small Animal
Island Veterinary Centre, Stafford are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team. The role will include nursing, theatre, consultations, mentoring students, basic animal care and cleaning. Day to day duties do depend on the area; for example, consultations are from 8:00am-11:00am with a half-hour gap in-between. Consults will then continue from 3:00pm-6:00pm. They will be in a dispensary in between assisting receptionists as necessary. The theatre will involve pre-op checks, preparing patients for ops, monitoring GA's and taking care of inpatients. The typical rota includes working 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts. There will be 1 in 5 Saturdays on a rota basis from 8:30am-4:00pm. There are no out of hours. Currently, we have 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 5 Student Veterinary Nurses, 1 Animal Care Assistant and 2 Receptionists. Our practice is a small animal practice with new purpose-built premises fully equipped with certificate holders so more complex operations can be performed. Based in central Stafford.
