Join our friendly team at Links Veterinary Group!

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our dedicated and supportive team who will contribute to providing top-quality care to our patients. We are looking for a friendly and adaptable team player with excellent communication and customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. You will have the ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, follow protocols, and have a compassionate and caring attitude towards animals and their owners. You must hold a valid UK driving license and have access to your own car, as branch work will be required at any time throughout East Lothian.

Day to Day

Your day will involve a mix of inpatient care, consulting, and surgery in a busy first opinion practice with visiting and in-house specialists. The position is a full-time permanent role, working a 5-day week with varying shift patterns from 7:00 am to 12:00 am (8-hour days). We are passionate about providing 24-hour care to ensure our patients receive excellent standards of care at any time of day. This commitment also gives our staff exposure to Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) work they desire. We greatly respect the care and dedication put into out-of-hours (OOH) work and reward with generous time back. The rota is currently a 1:10, including weekends, evenings, and occasional night shifts, based mainly at our Haddington surgery. Branch cover will be required ad hoc across all five surgeries.

Meet like-minded professionals

Links Veterinary Group has five branches across beautiful East Lothian, offering beaches and countless outdoor pursuits right at our doorstep. Our main Haddington branch is housed in a purpose-built building equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, dental suite, two dedicated operating theatres, prep room, separate cat and dog wards, and four large, airy consult rooms, including a dedicated nurse consult room. We have a visiting orthopaedic vet and an ophthalmology referral service.

Our team consists of 17 Veterinary Surgeons, 15 Registered Veterinary Nurses, and a strong, dedicated Reception team. We are a friendly and relaxed team who enjoy working together in a supportive environment. Certificate training and further development are actively encouraged and supported.

Start the rewarding career you deserve

We encourage further development, with multiple team members studying for certificates. Great transport links to Edinburgh mean that working with us allows you to enjoy the beautiful countryside and the bright lights of the city. Our own OOH offering allows for optimal stabilization, monitoring, and workup of critical cases. Our OOH rota is designed to reward our team with a better work-life balance for helping us provide round-the-clock care. Our other branches are all within walking distance to the sea, making coastal lunchtime walks a must!

We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from:
