Are you looking to join a supportive, vibrant and caring team who prioritise patient care? Are you looking to utilise your Schedule 3 skills? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you at our Wigan Vets for Pets practice!

Join our amazing team of 5 vets, 8 RVNs, 5 receptionists and 3 VCAs. We are a close team who support and help each other out, who make time to have fun and where each team member's contributions are listened to and valued.

We are ideally looking for a full time RVN but we are flexible and would be open to discussion regarding hours and rota. The responsibilities are on a rota and vary between ward and inpatient nurse, theatre and prep nurse, and consulting nurse between the hours of 8am and 8pm. There is no OOH and 1:7 Saturdays 8am until 3pm.

We would love to find a team-focused, motivated RVN who shares our ethos of looking after our patients as if they were our own, supporting and respecting the team, knowledge sharing, and maintaining our ‘no blame' culture, reflecting and learning from our mistakes.

We are a busy practice with an interesting and varied caseload and we are looking for a real team player who is friendly, caring, empathetic, and prioritises patient care, aiming to provide gold standard for their patients and clients within a first opinion setting. The practice is a RCVS accredited GP and we have recently become accredited as a Zero Pain Practice with the Zero Pain Philosophy.

We have an incredible team of nurses who are highly skilled and motivated, especially focused on gold standard patient care, evidence-based medicine, and quality improvement by clinically auditing practices and protocols. Our nursing team boasts 3 advanced diploma nurses, a Nursing Cert holder in Anaesthesia, an ECC Nurse, and an ISFM Feline Nurse.

We have recently undergone a full practice refurbishment and redecoration, enabling us to utilise our space and create a second theatre and a dedicated isolation ward.

We offer a generous CPD budget where certificates are encouraged and funded. The salary is between £30-33k FTE depending on the level of experience you can bring to the team, a contributory pension scheme, all professional memberships paid, and access to our exclusive reward hub which provides discounts for high street retailers, as well as company-wide discounts.

Pets just see people. They aren't biased and they don't discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves, so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
