What you'll do

You will work in a global multi-functional development team, and interact with your peers within Platform Engineering to create the best possible service in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate is required to work on key Inmarsat Edge and shore-side (AWS and Hybrid Cloud) solutions. It is required to be familiar with end-to-end networking, software and communication hardware. The role will require co-ordination with a wide range of other project teams both within and external to Viasat. The candidate is responsible for handling the software releases across Edge and Shore for our Maritime Products. The candidate is responsible for defining and driving test campaigns on an end-to-end system level, with the objective to deliver fit for purpose products and services to key partners. Quality Assurance for the Platform Engineering team includes approval of terminals, firmware and software to be used with Inmarsat’s maritime products, regression tests, troubleshooting and defect triage, build technical documentation and ensure handover of knowledge to key collaborators.

The day-to-day

Handle the releases of all software related to Maritime products on Edge and into AWS and Hybrid Cloud Contribute to the definition and execution of end-to-end validation of new Inmarsat services Participate in end-to-end troubleshooting activities across the full product life-cycle. Participate to the evolution of the different test platforms, to match growing need in terms of test coverage and test time. Drive test coverage and evolve test strategy to incorporate new tooling and increased automated test coverage

What you'll need

Strong working experience with end-to-end validation and troubleshooting of telecommunication systems, including networking, software and edge hardware Strong working experience with test plan definition, test tools and technical documentation Knowledge about various scripting technologies Knowledge about Linux, KVM, virtualization environment in general Knowledge about software development and engineering techniques Knowledge about automated tests environments Comfortable working in an agile development environment Strong problem solver with clearly communicating ideas
