We are seeking an experienced physician to join our team on a casual basis, providing relief during vacation and leave periods for the current physician team at the CBSA's Immigration Holding Centre in Surrey, BC. Clinics are 4 hours long and occur three times per week (typically Monday-Wednesday-Friday, although weekend clinics may be possible depending on the physician's preferred availability). Clinic hours must occur between 8am and 4pm. As a Physician on the team, you will collaborate with the 24/7 nursing services as well as the psychologist and psychiatrist on site. You will be responsible for initial medical and mental health screenings of individual detainees, as well as providing ongoing medical support for any primary healthcare needs that might arise while detainees are in the Centre. You will provide medical advice and guidance to CBSA officials and will refer detainees to appropriate in-house or off-site medical services. Compensation:
Physicians are compensated at a flat hourly rate of $325/hr for on-site clinics (x4 hrs each clinic), and will receive a competitive stipend for being on-call between clinics. On-call responsibilities are shared amongst the physician team, and calls are kept to a minimum. Qualifications
Licensed and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia Minimum of five years experience in the last ten years as a practicing physician in a primary healthcare facility for adults. Responsibilities must include diagnosing and treating a range of issues including addictions, mental health, chronic disease, and communicable disease. Additional Requirements
