Because People Matter - Work with Us
Do you have a passion for helping vulnerable people enjoy as much fulfilment as they can and feel included in their community? If compassion, care, and inclusiveness are an important part of who you are, our opportunities to work away from the routine in a demanding, challenging but emotionally rewarding role could be for you. Our Turning Point Scotland Services in GADRRS - Stabilisation Service are looking for people like you to help provide individualised support to adults with a wide range of needs, either on an individual 1:1 basis or alongside others as part of a team. We aim to provide a 4 to 6 weeks residential service for individuals who are no longer managing their support within a community setting. Our team of social care, nursing, and medical staff will provide treatment and support to individuals who are deemed to be engaging in high-risk drug and/or alcohol use with complex needs. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering a range of interventions in 1:1 and group work settings to support, encourage, and motivate individuals to assist them to gain some stability back in their life. The support we provide is always person-centred, involving people who know the person well, including family, friends, other health and social work professionals, advocacy services, and our own staff members. No previous working experience is needed; full training will be provided. We believe having the right values of respect, compassion, inclusion, and integrity is all you need to join our team! We would offer you full support in completing your application. As a Relief Support Practitioner, you will work with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives, such as keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health, and wellbeing. Please note that IT skills are required for all our vacancies. Successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of the start date. Turning Point Scotland operates a List of Approved Relief Workers who may be contacted by services when there is a need to engage additional workers to provide the required support. Relief Workers are primarily deployed to cover periods of leave, sickness absence, and to provide additional support during peak activity. When there is suitable work available, a manager will contact Relief Workers to offer them a shift or series of shifts. As a Relief Worker, you will be well-placed to fit your work around your existing commitments and will be under no pressure to accept work if it does not suit you. However, once work is offered and accepted, there is an expectation that you will make every effort to attend that shift. Your reliability is very important to our services and to the people we support. Relief Workers submit a Time Sheet to claim payment for hours worked and are paid monthly. You will accrue some entitlement to paid holidays and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred during your work. You will be required to undertake a programme of basic training designed to enable you to operate safely and meet the organisation’s health & safety obligations. Relief Working at Turning Point Scotland will not normally be suitable for people with full-time posts with other agencies. If you would like to chat about any aspect of the role, please call our Recruitment & Engagement Team on 0808 1643100.
