As part of our ongoing growth, we are seeking a talented Accountant to join our finance team in Cardiff.

Role Overview: The Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing and improving the financial processes of the business. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who is comfortable working in a dynamic, retail-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. - Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, monitor, and analyze budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and actionable insights. - Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. - Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and ensure efficient financial resource management. - Compliance: Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements, including VAT returns and corporate tax submissions. - Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices. - Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, procurement, and senior management, to provide financial support and guidance. - Audit Preparation: Assist in the preparation for external audits, including providing documentation and explanations as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Professional Certification: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA). - Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, ideally within the retail sector. - Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. - Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in financial analysis and reporting. - Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly. - Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide practical solutions. - Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
