What you'll be doing

You will need to ensure that all work is delivered to the highest standard, on schedule and within budget. You'll be working closely with other departments, where you'll develop great working relationships and demonstrate strong skills in conveying ideas and effectively interpreting feedback.

Responsibilities include:
  • Managing cover corrections in InDesign as well as other design corrections as necessary
  • Managing multiple projects aligning with company priorities and adjusting task lists as needed
  • Checking files from external suppliers to ensure they meet the required standards
  • Preparing final files for press and archiving in Biblio DAM
  • Working closely with the Production Manager and Senior Reprint Editor to ensure projects are managed on time, on budget and to high quality standards, keeping all parties informed of progress.
  • To review Critical Stock Reports against the corrections logs to assess the need for reprint corrections, locating PDFs (or other files). Managing cover changes and other design route internal updates.
  • To monitor weekly Reprint Status Report and Sign-off Reports from Production and report progress, flag and manage delays

  • An understanding of the publishing process and Adobe CC skills

Experience:
  • Experience in a relevant design or editorial environment
  • Basic InDesign and Adobe suite skills including Photoshop
  • Successful track record of delivery on time and to budget
  • Supplier management and negotiation skills (desirable)
  • Involvement in digital projects (desirable)

The role will be based at our London office, Carmelite House, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
