We are currently recruiting for a skilled
Research and Development Engineer
to join one of our clients’ teams based in Syston, Leicestershire. The R&D Engineer will develop trim covers for various seats including patterning and new build projects within the manufacturing industry for both Commercial and Defence sectors. Our client has several programmes starting from scratch which will allow the successful Engineer to work with the design team and use their imagination to produce the desired results prior to the customer for sign off. On a day-to-day basis, you will be required to develop, sew, and trim seating fabrics in line with the specifications set out. You will also work closely with the development schedule to ensure that new products are produced in time and that all relevant paperwork is completed. Ideal candidates will have worked as a R&D Engineer previously and must have experience with a wide range of fabrics including leather, PVC, textiles, and foams. You will also have the ability to communicate well, work as part of a close team, and possess a basic understanding of technical drawings.
