Are you an experienced Research & Development Engineer keen to support solutions within the manufacturing sector? If so, the following permanent role could be for you…. My client is a leading manufacturer of custom-made steel door solutions in the Newcastle-under-Lyme area. They are looking for a R&D Engineer to join them ASAP on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and improving the company product portfolio, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and performance standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product innovation, optimize manufacturing processes, and address customer requirements. This is an exciting role which sits in a department that focuses on ensuring all products meet the current standards and legislations. You will be involved in identifying future testing requirements and seeing them through to completion. You will be responsible for:

Designing and developing new steel door products and improving existing designs using Solidworks. Conducting product testing and performance analysis. Collaborating with production, quality, and sales teams to ensure seamless product integration. Researching new materials, technologies, and manufacturing techniques. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Preparing technical documentation, including design specifications and checking of test reports. Participating in prototype development and testing. Identifying and resolving technical challenges throughout the product lifecycle. Providing technical support to internal and external sales teams. You will have:

Proven experience in product design and development, preferably in steel or construction products. Good written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in SolidWorks. CWSP certification (desirable). Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, material properties, and quality standards. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. A good understanding of sheet metal fabrication machinery and production. Experience in product design using sheet metal or other CNC production methods. The package:
