Join us as Research Ethics Coordinator and help to promote good research conduct across the university. You will work as part of the Research and Innovation Support (RIS) Culture and Governance team, who together enable a culture of research integrity by providing expert guidance on ethics, governance, and sponsorship, and play a key role in enabling culture change across the university. As Research Ethics Coordinator you can expect to be involved in: Providing a first point of contact for staff and student queries about applying for research ethics review, advising applicants on the University’s ethical review processes, and referring more complex queries via approved escalation routes. Signposting information and guidance on the research ethics application and review process. Assessing submitted ethics applications, determining completeness, and progressing to review as appropriate. Keeping accurate and timely records of research ethics application progress, and research governance and approvals, monitoring their progress in line with agreed timescales, processing outstanding actions and communicating outcomes with relevant stakeholders. Supporting the organisation of meetings, events, and committees that relate to research ethics and governance. What will you bring to the role? An understanding of and empathy with the research and innovation environment of a university. Good Information Technology (I.T.) skills and proficiency with Microsoft packages. Effective organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Organised with effective time management skills, attention to detail, and in maintaining high levels of confidentiality. Willingness to learn and apply new and existing systems, processes, procedures and policies. Commitment to deliver and enable equality, diversity, and inclusivity.
