£38,205 - £42,978 As a Research Fellow, you will be an integral member of the Active Together team, supporting the delivery of a large and complex cancer rehabilitation programme at the AWRC and sites across Yorkshire. Working closely with the project manager, wider team and fellow researchers, you will be at the heart of delivering a pioneering multidisciplinary cancer rehabilitation service, contributing to its development, evaluation and roll out across the county. We are looking for a PhD qualified researcher in a relevant field with publication and conference experience to spearhead the data-related aspects of our pioneering cancer rehabilitation service. You will lead on the multi-site data collection and evaluation aspects of the service, including monitoring performance, reporting on progress and highlighting risks or issues. This will include the safe and secure collection of data, creation and management of a database of confidential medical data, data analysis and visualisation. You will share results with the programme’s funder, Yorkshire Cancer Research, and all stakeholders involved in service delivery. Communicating the results of your evaluation will be a major component of the role, both locally and internationally. You will be at the forefront of developing, evaluating, and implementing a groundbreaking cancer rehabilitation service across Yorkshire. You will work closely with NHS Trusts and their collaborative partners to assist in the setup of their data collection and transfer, including advising on appropriate data protection and sharing agreements. You will review, evaluate and synthesise the latest research on exercise oncology and behaviour change strategies for physical activity, making recommendations for data-led service change and development. You will contribute to other research within the university where appropriate and raise research proposals of your own related to the Active Together population. We are seeking candidates with a broad range of experience but with a particular focus on providing support for the delivery and evaluation of a complex public health service. We are looking to attract candidates with strong experience of data collection and evaluation, including the evaluation of retrospective, complex data sets, problem-solving, communication and facilitation skills, and well-developed stakeholder and customer service skills. Insight and experience of NHS services (particularly cancer services) and processes would be an advantage.
