We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised individual with experience in research to provide clinical trial support to the Research and Innovation team based at St George's Hospital, Stafford. You will support research engagement and activity in primary care and community settings and coordinate the work of our research bus. The role supports research in a range of physical and mental health areas. Calls or visits to discuss the role are strongly encouraged. You will be responsible for the recruitment, education and monitoring of trial participants as well as the collection and documentation of accurate data, including collection and management of samples. You will work with our partnership team to develop relationships with the voluntary sector and community groups to promote and deliver research, and sustain their research engagement. You must be able to travel across the Trust geography and be willing to drive our mobile research unit. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will work autonomously with responsibility for your own portfolio of clinical research studies, with the support of senior staff. You will be responsible for the recruitment of participants onto clinical trials via different routes in hospital and community settings. You will play a pivotal role in the delivery of complex research projects, in line with agreed timescales and plans; working with the R&I Research Governance team to ensure that all appropriate approvals have been gained prior to research studies commencing. You will maintain effective communication between Trust clinical services, primary care and community organisations to ensure safe service delivery. You will evaluate research protocols, patient information and GP letters and ensure that information about clinical trials is clearly and appropriately communicated to research participants. You will manage the research related aspect of care for participants of several research studies, which may cover different health specialties. Person specification

Qualifications

Relevant degree / registered Nurse or AHP Masters qualification or Good Clinical Practice Experience

Experience of research or significant relevant clinical experience Experience of research delivery in NHS or commercial setting Employer certification / accreditation badges
