25 days holiday (increases with tenure) + private medical cover + life cover + pension scheme options + volunteering days + other enhanced company benefits Role Overview As a Bioscientist, you will play a critical role in advancing our translational biology capabilities for emerging therapeutic modalities, bRo5 compounds, and complex small molecules. You will contribute to the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments to understand the biological activity, efficacy, and mechanism of action of these compounds. Leveraging your experience, you will also help establish best practices and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful results. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Establish and Optimize Translational Biology Capabilities: Support the development of robust workflows for biological characterization of new modalities and complex molecules. Experimental Design and Execution: Design, implement, and optimize biochemical, cellular, and translational assays to evaluate compound efficacy and mechanism of action. Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyse and interpret experimental data, providing insights to support project advancement. Present findings in clear and concise formats to internal teams, collaborators, and clients. Collaborative Innovation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including synthetic chemistry, analytical sciences, and bioinformatics, to deliver multi-disciplinary projects. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records in compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards. Literature Research: Stay informed of recent advances in translational biology, emerging modalities, and related fields to ensure CatSci remains at the forefront of scientific innovation. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience PhD in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a related field, with 1+ years of industrial experience, or 4+ years of industrial experience post-Master’s/Bachelor’s. Extensive hands-on experience in translational biology, focusing on small molecules, bRo5 compounds, or new modalities. Proven expertise in designing and executing biochemical and cell-based assays (e.g., qPCR, Western blot, ELISA, flow cytometry). Familiarity with advanced assay technologies, including high-throughput screening and phenotypic assays. Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret complex biological data. Strong problem-solving and innovation skills, with the ability to think laterally. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting data to diverse audiences. Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and across multidisciplinary collaborations. Commitment to safe laboratory practices and compliance with regulatory standards. Experience in translational biology for oligonucleotides, peptides, or TPDs. Familiarity with biophysical and structural analysis techniques (e.g., SPR, ITC, NMR). Understanding of GLP, GCP, or GMP standards. Expertise in automation, high-throughput technologies, or assay miniaturization. Experience in mechanistic studies and target validation. Why Join CatSci?
